1. Shaikh Daij Bin Salman Bin Daij Al Khalifa, Chairman, Bahraini National

ChairmanB.S.B.A. International Business. The American University, U.S.A., Leadership Management (Gulf Executive Program), University of Virginia, U.S.A.

Shaikh Daij was born on 22 July 1969. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of GOP since its inception in 2006 and the Undersecretary for Ports Affairs at the Ministry of Finance. Before taking over as the President of Customs in March 2006, Shaikh Daij was Assistant Undersecretary for Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Industry & Commerce from 1997.

Other positions held by him presently include: Chairman of Bahrain Airport Company and Chairman of Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (ASRY) and Asry Marketing Services Ltd (ASRYMAR), Board Member: United Arab Shipping Corporation, Bahrain Convention & Exhibition Authority and Sheikha Hessa Girls School. The positions held by him until recently included: President of Customs, Ministry of Finance, Chairman of the Board, GCC Patent Office for 2005, Deputy Chairman, Bahrain Promotions & Marketing Board and Board Member of Tender Board, Aluminium Bahrain and King Fahd Causeway Authority.

2. Mr. Eid Abdullah Yousef, Deputy Chairman, Bahraini National

Diploma in Marine Shipping Management Studies: Sweden & Egypt

Eid Yousef has been the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors since 2006. He previously held the position of President of Customs and Ports in Ministry of Finance from 1995 to 2006. He earlier served as Chairman of Board at the Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (ASRY), United Arab Shipping Company (UASC), Arab Maritime Petroleum transport Company (AMPTC) and as a Board Member at Middle East Navigation Aids Services (MENAS). Eid was once considered the youngest GCC citizen to become a qualified Marine Pilot.
 

3. Mr. Ahmed Isa Bubshait, Board Member, Bahraini National

B.Sc. in Geology, Al Azhar University, Cairo

Ahmed Isa Bubshait represents Ministry of Industry & Commerce as Acting Under Secretary for Industry Affairs and Assistant Undersecretary for Foreign Trade. Besides serving as Board Member at the General Organisation of Sea Ports, he is also a Board Member of several companies in Bahrain including Bahrain Livestock Co, General Poultry Co, Bahrain Convention & Exhibition Authority, King Fahad Causeway Authority and GCC Patent Office.
 

4. Mr. Jawad Yousuf Alhawaj, Board Member, Bahraini National

JawadJawad Alhawaj is one of the prominent business entrepreneur in the GCC and has diverse business interests in the fields of Perfumes, Cosmetics, Jewellery, Watches, Fashion & Consumer Electronics. He is currently serving as Member of the Board of Directors at the General Organisation of Sea Ports. Mr. Jawad is the Deputy Chairman & Managing Director of Alhawaj. Presently, he is a member of the Executive Committee & Chairman of Retail Sales & Traditional Markets Committee at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI). He also serves as Chairman of Techno Blue (Samsung), Al Manar in Qatar, Azadea, and Bahrain International Retail Development.
 

5. Mr. Lars-Peter Grönberg, Board Member,Swedish National

Lars-Peter Grönberg has been serving as a Board Member of General Organisation of Sea Ports since 2006. He is also currently the Managing Director of Gulf Agency Company (GAC) Bahrain, Middle East and The Honorary Consul of Sweden (Consular Agency of Sweden). He held various senior management positions with GAC in Nigeria, West Africa from Feb. 1994 to Sept. 2003.He was also the captain of BECH Management – Denmark from Oct. 1991 to Feb. 1993.

Mr. Lars-Peter Grönberg had been very active in social activities as Rotarian (Rotary of Manama) and Member of the Bahrain Yacht Club in 2006-07.
