Welcome to GOP website.. Over the years, Bahrain’s ports have been adapted and developed to keep abreast of the latest innovations. Each step of development has been carefully envisioned, planned and executed. It is this judicious wisdom and management that has allowed us to take full advantage of the opportunities presented today.

The opportunity to increase Bahrain’s strong position within the Gulf as a trans-shipping hub has reached the level where major expansion is called for. While the Port of Mina Salman has served us well for the past 45 years, and will continue to do so, we have commenced development of a new port at Hidd, which will be known as the Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Port (KBSP).

Shipping and international trade will continue to play an important role in Bahrain’s economy as our ports are the first point of entry for goods into the Kingdom and beyond to neighboring countries. The Gulf region’s excellent geographic location and very good accessibility by air, land and sea have brought it to the top of the agenda for global logistics.

It is gratifying that a website of the General Organization of Sea Ports is in place. It is a part of the continuous effort to make the Kingdom of Bahrain an important trans-shipping hub in the region by making all the GOP information and services available and accessible to all.
