The Air Transport and Facilitation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council held its fifth meeting which is being hosted by the Ministry of Transportation’s Civil Aviation Affairs.
It is the aim of the Ministry of Transportation to provide effective and efficient public transport in Bahrain that is attractive to all sections of the society, with high quality operating standards and customer service, and that is a viable alternative to the private car.
An integral part of the strategic objective of establishing Bahrain as a transhipment hub and maximising the nation’s assets is expanding sea access to the country.
Over the next decade, the increase in passenger and freight demand will require the construction of a new international airport.
